The citizens of New Haughton, an urban city on the planet of Terrestria, keep quiet about a supernatural ability lurking within their bloodlines. While they have a long history of successfully time traveling, the act has its conditions; it can only occur occasionally on a full moon, and the travelers do not know what location or time period to which they will travel. To make matters worse, the current generation doesn’t even know about it until they’re abducted. All they know is they will travel where they need to be, and more importantly, where the world needs them to be. Follow the New Haughton posse throughout the history of Terrestria as they explore – and possibly alter – the course of history.
The Shadowclocks series just got started but is already proving to be very family friendly and spans several genres: Sci-fi, Fantasy, Romance (absolutely nothing risqué)…and the list goes on. Entertaining and suspenseful for anybody old enough to read it for themselves or young enough to be read to, the author has curated an arsenal of personality and character traits and takes painstaking measures to ensure the alternative calendar and futuristic timelines always flow, if anybody wanted to double-check her work. Aly Mara is the up-and-coming author to watch – she’ll be on the NYT Best Sellers list in no time, and I predict her books will be turned into movies! The question is, will you be able to say you “knew her when…?”

SHADOWCLOCKS Volume I: Infamy

In Shadowclocks: Infamy, several local residents quickly learn their deep connections to one another when they are abducted and taken to a cabin in the wilderness. When the group’s physically disabled and terminally ill teenaged history buff, Imma Marshall, is beckoned into a strange portal that appears, she finds herself 300 years in the past and scheming to assassinate the world’s most notorious dictator and mass murderer in world history. The only problems Imma faces in her self-appointed mission are a dead language barrier, her physical limitations, time constraints…and her target being much more friendly than anticipated. Can she protect the world from this deranged political leader without destroying the future from where she came, or potentially negating her own existence?
Shadowclocks Volume II: Vestige

In Shadowclocks: Vestige, a series of strange occurrences takes place in New Haughton following Imma’s return from Arvenia. The time portal in the cabin opens up and claims another visitor, causing bizarre and puzzling events to occur immediately afterward. As the group sets out on their endeavor to link their past actions to an altered present reality, they consider that the key to uncovering the truth may lie in the mysterious packages delivered from an organization with strong and mysterious ties to several travelers. Join the New Haughton posse as they unravel one of the world’s best-kept secrets and search for a decades-long lost object whose existence is now denied by the entirety of Terrestria.
Follow them again as they try to answer the questions: how did this happen, who can be trusted, and most importantly: Who else knows about the hole?
